Best Free alternative to AOL AVS...

Now that AOL has chosen McAffee as engine for its free antivirus software (AVS)....Which free AVS has the potential to be its alternative? I really loved the AVS with Kaspersky engine.....

I have used Avast but did not like it because it proved to be a memory hogger at times....The system used to get stuck as is sometimes.

Which free AV should I use now?....The AV should have good detection rates....and as many features as possible.

in terms of detection rate avast wins over avg or antivir. but among the free AV wid realtime scan engine only Avast, antivir and AVG are worth mentioning.
