Default gigabit ethernet


hi everyone, well i hav got a mobo with onboard gigabit lan.. wat i wanted to know is that does it need any special type of network cable and do
the other comps in the network need to hav gig ethernet as well

no it doesnt need a special cable neither does it need another gigabit port to connect to

it simply means it supports gigabit speeds ... and u need ur network to support such speeds which can be achieved by cables like cat 5e, cat6, cat7
what we use is cat5
ofcourse this cable will work too
but with a rated max connection speed of 100mbps

its just another lan card on ur pc ... just a regular NIC no worries
