How 2 attach .bmp files to a post?

well, i've tried attaching screenshots of my desktop or any other pic 4 dat mater, but the size is jus too large for it 2 atttach to a post. de size is limited to 39.1 KB, how do i do it?

lessen the resolution of the pic and convert to JPEG for lesser size.

how do u do dat? do v hafta use any software? picasa or irfan view?

use irfanview or ms paint.
just open the files and go to file-->save as
give the file name and set the type as .jpg

well, changing de filename to jpg didnt make any difference in de size.

don't change the filename. change the "file type" to jpg.

and resolution is the no. of pixels out of which any image is made up of.

my suggestion dont resize d picture

keep it as it is, heres is what i suggest u do

1. open d pic in M.S Paint

2. Got to (File ->Save as)

3. in d filetype, select *.GIF save it as a GIF file
the file size will reduce gr8tly
(u will get a message in MS PAINT about image qlty, just ignore it)

4. Upload d picture on imageshack.us and once d uploading is complete just post d link here
