Default new pc combination

hello all,

I am going to buy intel 945gccr mobo with intel pentium D 2.66 ghz processor with 533 mhz fsb, 2X1 mb l2 cache and kingston 1 gb ddr2 ram. I have very limited budget. I cant afford to pay a penny more. Is the combination right for my fixed budget.

If you were me, what would you change without increasing the budget. Please help.

@pathiks
there isn't any big price difference b/w x2 3800+ and X2 4200+. An X2 4200+ is now for 3.1k and X2 3800+ is for 2.9k.
So i wud suggest X2 4200+ against Pentium D anyday.
The X2's idle temp is around 24c and max at 40c on load.
But Pentium d is a very HOT processor and heats up very quickly.

no, not core2duo. thats costly. its pentium dual core in the E2000 series. they are core2duos wid less cache and hence labelled pentium dual core cpus.

and pentium Ds are from the dinosaur age now!
