Mac OS X - Leopard
I have a PC assembled by a local dealer.. My configuration is,
Intel 3.0GHz Dual Core
Intel D102 Motherboard
1Gb DDR2 RAM
nVidia 6600LE 256Mb PCI-e GFX Card
My father said he'll get me an OS Leopard or Vista.. Am not interested in Vista.. I would like to test Mac..
Can my system run Mac OS X Leopard? Can it be installed on a Intel based PC like mine??
Please help me..
Prasanna.

Re: Mac OS X - Leopard
Switch to linux. It's free, secure, and can do almost anything windows can do and a lot more.
About you leopard question I think it's illegal. But you can install windows on a intel based mac but not the other way around. It's weird but to me it's one more reason to switch to linux.

Re: Mac OS X - Leopard
Install Ubuntu Linux.customize to Mac Leopard theme via the guides here of @infra_ded_rude.come to open source section.see the screenshots.ubuntu rocks and in a way mac and ubuntu(linux) are same they are UNIX or UNIX-like systems.so if u cant afford a mac dont worry Open Source Movement too rocks!

Re: Mac OS X - Leopard
i'd advise against flyakite. it has messed up my system EACH and EVERY time i've uninstalled it!!!
if you want only the look then you may use flyakite on windows forever. otherwise if you want the look and FEEL of mac os get hold of a linux distro and customize it. you don't even need to buy a new pc for it

Re: Mac OS X - Leopard
No luck with Leopard, mate. Mac OS X needs a Mac to run.
It is Apple's policy. They sell you the whole deal; the hardware and software is deeply integrated. That is why it is so stable and crash proof.
Bottomline is, you cannot install it on your PC.

^^^ i don't agree. i'd say you can get the LOOK and FEEL of mac os in linux but NOT the ease of use or the applications. thats all where it differs!

Re: Mac OS X - Leopard
No, the feel is definitely different. Even the look. (And though you can get close, even on Windows, it is impossible to get to the same standard.)
In fact, even the base is different. Linux is Unix-like; Mac is based on Unix and is Linux-like. I would even go out on a limb here and say that Linux is more similar to Windows than it is to Mac OS X. (I know it sounds insulting to be compared to Windows... but believe me, I am not dissing Linux here.)

i'm talking about the UI here and nothing else! looks is how you make it look and feel is how the UI behaves. the comparison ends there
and dun worry, no flame wars here.. at least from my side
