HELP!! How to recieve money from cards?

My friend has a website and wants his customers to pay him directly through his site with their cards i.e. the money should be aotumatically added to his bank account.... as in any business website. Any suggestions where can I get relevant information. Don't tell me to give this job to a web design company... he wants me to do it! And I want you to help me out, if you can!

HE will need a Merchant Account to process Cards directly which can be costly. For a simple solution, he can use Paypal. Search this forum for Paypal as I and Others have answered what is Paypal and how it works many times
