Default cant add second hard disk

i have 4 molex power cables in my pc. one each for a hard disk, floppy and 2 optical drives. i want to attach a second hard disk but there are no more power cables remaining. i dont mind removing one from the floppy drive but if i do that, the computer refuses to boot. how do i go about attaching a second hard disk?

Hi
I had a similar problem.... BTW why do u need 2 optical drives at the same time...... So plug off one and use that to connect the second hard drive.....

Please re-check it. Floppy drive does not use a molex cable.

I guess u can connect 2 harddisk + 2 optical drives, since your bios only allows this. So, u must have 4 power cables for this and one separetly for floppy.

If u still cannot have them, get an splitter from the market and connect them.

Default about Second HDD

Hi friend
I m telling u the solution for 2 HHDs
1) Set new HDD's jumper to slave. (jumper is present at back side of HDD)
2) Remove any power cable which is not probably in use and connect it to 2nd HDD.
3) Now boot ur PC and u won't face any problem.

If u still getting problem then mail me.
bye..
