Try to run rescue from boot cd..as suggested by blacklight
ntldr is xp boot loader as far as i know ... also ntldr.com and some dir called sys volume info..all these are considered important files and also hal.dll is a importnant file during boot

Yeah, you could probably copy the files in the i386 folder into the hard disk, and then use the winnt32 file to install the Recovery Console as a startup option and then go into the recovery console and run the commands theraven said. Works without a boot CD all right.
