Default Can 2 SATA HDD make any difference above 120 GB @ 5400


HI
I am having following configuration

CPU AMD athlon Xp 3200+
MOBO ASUS A7N8X-E-Deluxe
RAM Hynnix 512 x 2 DDR 400 MHz
VGA XFX nVidia GeForce FX 5900XT with 128 RAM
SOUND CARD Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
SPEAKERS Creative INSPIRE T7700
HDD SAMSUNG 120 GB @ 7200rpm

I already had 2 80 GB SAMSUNG SATA Hard Disks

I play games for 6 to 7 hours a day
The Games are UT2004 , DOOM 3 , NFSUG SPLINTER CELL 2 , FARCRY, PRINCE OF PERSIA: SANDS OF Time

Will 2 SATA Make any difference please reply

SATA technology makes your data flow rate faster, but when it comes about Hard drive to ram Tx it`s make no more diffrence.
So for games 120*7200 is better option as far as i know.

Yes, if u configure ur SATA drives in RAID 0, u'll definitely get a speed boost. Check if ur mobo has onboard RAID controller and get ur technician to configure them for u.

The latest SATA drives run at 10k. If u can get one, the performance increase will be quite significant. As for RAID 0, u get perf increment of around 5% to 15% (real time, not just benchmarking). But your data cannot be recovered in case of a HDD crash. U should have a spare HDD as backup in case u go for RAID 0. The increment in gaming performances won't be much unless u use quite alot of virtual memory. Of course, loading/ saving will be faster.

yes with the help of RAID 0,1 You`ll find out some Speed boost else no use(for games)
