Default hex editors


can any one tell me where do i find stuff about them. there are lots of editors available but dont know what & how they do the stuff????

Use google.

They can be used for debugging purposes.

They can be used with diassemblers\debuggers like win32dasm or softice.

Hex Editor is a tool to edit the files in it's native format that is in Binary (or Hex), there r some free editors which lets u to edit files in Hex....

A hex editor is a program to manipulate binary files on a computer (as opposed to plain text).

In most hex editor applications the data of the computer file is represented as hexadecimal values grouped in two groups of 8 bytes and one group of 16 ASCII chars, nonprintable characters normally are represented by a dot "." in the ASCII part.

Visit pspad.com and download PSPad.A very useful tool...can be also used as a hex editor.

thanx guys.. well, i will put my q this way, are any tutorials available on this stuff. i know VB,, and now want to work backwards. but those Hex-stuff goes over my head. can some one tell me about t?
special thanks to achacko, i could get other useful stuff from ur links. guys try them out.

looking for more help :roll:
