SUGGESTIONS: Required For NEW Website / Blog

Hi guys

I'm planning to start a blog and I hv started working on it. It'll contain all my tutorials, reviews, themes, etc.
Now I want to know a few things.

Pls list all kind of benefits which I can get from it. (Talking about money.) I don't know anything about ADs, etc. So I'll be very thankful if anyone posts the whole procedure with the links. How can I add Ads, search engines, etc. required things in my blog? How can I get max. benefit from it?

I'll start the blog at Wordpress.

i suggest u take ads from adsense. its pretty simple, u sign up, give your ad size, they'll give u a code. put the code and the ads appear.

In blogging there are numerous ways to earn money, adsense, link sell, product reviews, kontera and many others. However I recommend don't blog for money. Do quality blogging money will follow.

Start blogging with self hosted wordpress blog with your domain, never go for subdomain like blogspot.com or wordpress.com if you are serious in blogging.

As for Ads, people have already mentioned, Adsense rules. Apply for an account, get the AD code and your ready to go.

thnx for ur replies guys. Currently I'm not doing self-hosting. I'll just create the account and will start posting. Yep, u'll get quality posts but I'm also planning to make some money.

So is there only Google Ad Sense for it? Or do I need some other things too?
Pls list all the required things which I can do for it. Only required and best.

I think we can't install plug-ins in Word Press until we r using Self hosting?

You can sell links and can do reviews of other product to earn money from your blog but for that you need to have a established blog. For new blog the only way to earn money is adsense, even for that you require traffic.

When Sukdeep is offering you free hosting in his quality server, I don't think there is any point in going to subdomain blog.

I don't think you should think so early of earning money from your blog. I recommend never add adsense to your blog unless your reader count reaches to 50 per day, and never give impression that your are blogging for money.

when u see u are eating too much resources u may shift to any paid hosting around Rs. 2500 per year, with good bandwidth like 10 GB and some 250GB (a good no nonsense hosting)....

i took a hosting plan with1gb bandwidth per month. thought it would be enough. but now that i've set upa site and forum, its gonna be drasticaly less.
so make sure u take enough bandwidt. u won't want ur site coming down towards the end of every month

Vishal why not take up hosting somewhere and rather go for something like Drupal. IMO, wordpress isn't wide flexible enough. It's just a blog.
With drupal you can put up things like a small forum where people can discuss on your articles. Again, you can make separate pages for different category of articles and such. You can also get along with like minded people to contribute to your site.
For such wide ranging functions wordpress comes up short, a good CMS like Drupal can do wonders.
You can use http://www.cmsmatrix.org/matrix/cms-matrix to compare the different CMS you may like.

you have an option to start your blog at wordpress.com, and when u get enough content in there, which can give an impression of good website and keep people binded to it. Just get your domain+hosting and transfer your blog.

PS: Transfering your blog is very easy with wordpress, it has lot of IMPORT options in Admin panel>Manage

and at the end of the day its all about CONTENT, Content and regular updates are only thing which are going to bring in the traffic which is directly propotional to MONEY.

and once you have the money, you can convert your blog into anything

I have used a couple of such CMS's. Though I am no advanced user when it comes to CMS's, still I understand that CMS's like drupal have a steeper learning curve. But, they also offer versatility which is quite useful for advanced users.

I have no doubt about anyones learning capabilities,

My point is COMPLEX CMS is no a good option to start with, and when you become friendly with CMS thing, CONVERSION is always a possibility.

Yup vishal u snd go with joomla or drupal... make it a full fledged site rather than just a blog.. also i hav been using flux cms for tp and found it light and good... u can try that too..
