7600GT 0r 8600GT?

Guys I am stuck on whether to buy 7600Gt or 8600Gt.8600 offers DX10 compatibility but according to reviews is not that good and 7600 beats it quite comfortably in current games.I want to play games like lost planet(DX9 version),crysis,etc at medium settings and respectable frame rates.

Please suggest.

My other specs:
C2D ROCESSOR E6300(1.86GHz)
INTEL 946GZ MOTHERBOARD.
1GB DDR2 RAM@533MHz(2X512MB)

dude...its true dat 7600gt does race ahead of 8600gt in sum games but mind u, they r dx9 titles...n tht issue is fixed by the current drivers for 8600gt...Also, in texture-intensive dx10 titles, the diff btwn 8600gt n 7600gt is abt 30-40%, with 8600gt ruling the roost here....so definately, go for 8600gt...it will prove useful in the forthcoming "resource-hungry" dx10 titles whr 7600gt wil b brought down to its knees....for specifications on bi\oth cars log on to nvidia.com

Will 8600GT be able to play CRYSIS.I WANT TO PLAY THAT GAME.

^^ At damn low settings if ever. But I think that Crysis will kill 8600 for sure.
At E3 they were playing Crysis @ Core 2 Duo + 2GB RAM + 8800 (Version not given). So 8800 is required AFAIT.

MAn they were playing with 4GB ram and 8800 and still weren't able to get highest possible settings.They said they played at 'near to max. settings'.Thats incredible.I mean even the latest hardware can't run that damn GAME.maybe QUAD 8800 IN SLI MODE.

BUT I dont have money ti buy 8800.

And I dont want the max. settings but just a playable game at medium settings.IS 8600GT CAPABLE OF DOING THIS.

sure u can play crysis at decent setings. Check their forums to find the exact setings u can go up while playin it.
