You could see if any 1 is watching and then flush the Temp Internet Files by right clicking on the IE icon>Properties>Click on the button clear offlines or something (man i dont remember coz i stopped using ie). Thne ur online identity os safe.

before logging on to your mails or something which requirs password, check that PC with Ad Aware or Spybot S&D, download at that time if required, then clean the PC cos U can clear your tracks by the way DJ said, but cannot dela with a keylopgger that way

During the scan of PC u simply browse other sites which doesn't requirs password like wwe.com or microsoft.com or whatever, once the cleaning is done then use your password sites

If possible do not login to mail ID outside your home

In one of the cyber cafe that i have been in Silchar (Assam) they install VNC to the client and administered from the Server.
I asked the owner (manager) to shut down the VNC running in my client, but they refused. They said that it was necessary as ppl just do what ever they want with their PC and may do illegal things, or even download virus etc,,, so to put check to this they installed VNC.
IS this legal?

u can delet ur history and cookies. but if the computer has keyloggers on it then there is no way u can detect it?
sm trojan removers do detect it but u wont be scanning a pc in a cyber cafe.

so do not do any illegal stuf in a cyber cafe.

go to a reputed cyber cafe .even if it costs 10-15 rs. more.

ur privacy is more important

Recently learnt that cookies are the most dangerous ones as they are the main info leakers inthe system.
Try to delete the, first.

Beware of key-loggers!
You won't even know that they are tracking your keystrokes if they are in the hidden mode.

if you're frequent to a particular cyber-cafe and/or the cafe owner is your acquaintance then convince him to do the following:

* install an anti-spyware software such as Ad-aware or Sybot SnD and scan the comps regularly.
* install Firefox/Opera to reduce chances of spyware infection.
* update anti-virus software on a periodic basis.
* suggest him to install a firewall software as well.

besides, whenever you use a terminal: cleaning the history, cookies & temp. internet files cache is a must; always.

keyloggers are the biggest concern. I know I have been to a cyber cafe and I have suspicions of keyloggers on the PCs and I was right. So I just didnt login to my accounts. Surfed for a while and left.
