search at tomshardware.com . they had a shootout of , cant remember exactly but of all the proccis since 1997 . there u would find all the benchmarks ( synthetic , real ....... vot not )

You won't notice any difference for most applications. Benchmarks will show a slight difference and some CPU-intensive tasks will be slightly faster with the 3000+ if you time them carefully, but that's about it.
Yes a 3000+ can outperform a 2800+ in every benchmarks but a 2800 is priced lower. But if we calculate price/perfomance a 3000+ comes out top as the price difference is not so large.
