Default DDR2 533Mhz or 266Mhz?

I bought a Dell Laptop which said i will get 533Mhz DDR2 Ram.. But when I checked with the latest version of CPU-z then it shows that i have a 266Mhz DDR2 RAM..

what is it? Is DDR2 available in 266Mhz freq.. As far as i know 533 and 667 are the only two available..

ddr2 = double data rate 2, the ram works twice in a clock cycle.

so double data rate of 266 mhz = 2*266mhz = 533 mhz. there's nothing wrong. cpuz is reporting the native speed

the CPU-Z reads ur BUS I/O Clock,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR2_SDRAM

where as the 533MHz which u buy is refered as the FSB

just like Processor, where with C2D u see FSB or 1066 where as the BUS speed is 1066/4 = 266 MHz
