Question best ups below 2.5 k

i want an ups for my P4 HT based pc with 17inch crt and onboard graphics. No heavy power consuming component is in my pc except the monitor. Planning to buy a 600 or 800VA ups which has a software to show battery status on PC. Preferred budget is around 2.5 k But i am ready to spend extra if required. please suggest any model.

I have few of those since 4 years, all I had to do after 2 years that changed the bat with one exide one Rs. 550/- once again it run solid for 2 years, now again time has come to change the bat...

but the Basic UPS is running solid !!!

actually onboard software PowerChute comunicates with the OS... and it on its own will ask u to replace the bat when its necessary...

^^^^

Certainly, man, when u go searching for specific model in local hardware store after readning internet suggestion, be sure, vendor will fall from sky when u mention those...

We can only suggest over all Picture, its the person who has to learn in his own back yeard, what is available or what not !!!!

APC is the way to go, now which model is available, its up to his Local vendor

What I really Like about APC is their true statements, they dont promiss high sky stuff, but what they promiss, they deliver...

i liked this model APC BE650Y-IN ,but the main problem is that there is a very less chance of its availability in my city.Mostly the local vendors keep Ups from microtek & luminous.please try to suggest model from these 2 brands.

note:- Software support is preferred

1) APC

2) Wipro

I am using both of them & both are running very good since last 2 years.

are there any UPS with timer, ie it will automatically shutdown at a mentioned time. coz i have been wasting money by paying extra to mtnl by not switching off adsl modem at 8 am (though comp switches off thru IDM). And i suppose for my config 500VA will be much more than reqd?
