Cool core 2 duo E6420 over clocking !!


Guys i read in tom's hardware that over clocked E6300 beats core 2 extreme !!
so i was thinkin of getting a E6420 and over clock it !!

what do u guys say ?? is it a good idea ?? is it safe to do so??

^^ Increase FSB in small steps.
But you see Intel gives a warranty of 3 years (which is good) and any mishap can damage your proccy (which is bad) and the warranty does NOT cover the overclocking mishaps (which is ugly) so its up to you.
When you are OC dont go mad and greedy. Just because they can do it does not meant you can do it too.
In the extreme edition, the multipliers are unlocked too. This helps.
Also those professional guys have really huge cabinets and they might use (Ive not read the article) water cooling for stability. So you go only upto that point where the PC is stable and not upto where they have OC it.
Besides that you need good mobo and good ram [corsair xms quality babe!] (I know you know that )
