Default Pinnacle Studio or display card

Hello
1) I am using windows XP and my system detailed configuration is at www.spunge.org/~valtea/report.htm and I have pinnacle

Studio 8 installed in my system. I use it for video editting. I have Pinnacle Hollywood FX 5 Pro-Plus installed in my system

which i used it for transistions in Pinnacle Studio 8. Lately i have experienced a new problem. My studio hangs very often

and i get error message. Specially when i try to apply for transistion this error happens. Is it due to my display adapter

driver or something? because in the error messege that i get it contains sisgl.dll as a ModName.

Studio program file has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Error Signature
AppName : studio.exe AppVer: 8.8.15.0 ModName: sisgl.dll
ModVer: 6.14.10.3511 Offset: 007ca7c

Detaile of the error messege is here at www.spunge.org/~valtea/error.txt

2) Also even when my studio was working properly, some of the transistions were not rendered correctly.

3)And moreover sometimes the video file becomes blank (Green) in the studio Timeline. And exporting those blank green files

does not help as it produces another green blank file. However the files which appear green (blank) in Studio are not so when

viewed in Media Player or other players. Is this because of poor quality video file?

Please help me

Thanking you.

dear valtea,

have u purchased Pinnacle AV/DV capture card & use Studio 8.8
that comes with it?

i think u need more RAM [i prefer 1GB DDR (400 MHZ)] & an AGP
CARD [Asus GEFORECE MX with atleast 64 mb DDR RAM]. this
will dramatically increase the rendering speed. atleast u must have
512 MB DDR RAM installed into your system. Your Athlon is
somewhat slow. if possible, use P-IV 2.8 [HT] with Intel 865GBF m/b [HT].
Studio 8 requires nearly 280 of RAM to work with.

one thing i would suggest to uninstall all the WinXP Hotfixes that is
installed when u try to install Studio 8 . Uninstall it from the control panel.

else, install Studio 9 [find it on a previous version of DIGIT DVD].
I've seen that many problems of studio 8 vanishes after studio 9
is installed.

or, u may try installing everything from scratch...i mean a fresh
installation of XP & everything !
