Default Trouble in my recycle-bin

Help please !!
My norton protected recycle-bin is giving me serious trouble . The items i delete from my pc go 2 my recycle bin in invisible mode when i say clear recycle bin it gives a confirmation message but does not display any items.Also the deleted data retrievable feature of the bin is not working. I use norton 2004 professional edition.
