Default Shadow Problem in Photos...

Hello friends!

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-P200. I have a small problem. Although the camera takes superb pictures, each and every snap taken inside the house has a shadow behind the subject. I have tried clicking photos from all angles, but the shadow problem still persists. Is this because of some camera fault or because of my photography fault. Please refer the photograph below and help.

Thank you.

Heh.. Have you seen Shutter? Just read the plot outline! Heh.. Kidding.. That's pretty normal if you use a flash.

Turn on lights in the house..It will reduce shadow.. Also experiment with different modes to remove it. (like Indoor,Dusk/Dawn...) Well..I used Nikon Coolpix. It had so many modes that fit perfectly to every situation.
I think Sony Cybershot have it too..
