Default How do i desable auto run


Google talk and yahoo messenger auto run when the system starts up, how do i disable them?

Go to start menu click on run, now type "msconfig". A new window will appear now click on startup tab in this window. u ll find no of checkboxes there uncheck gtalk and yahoo messenger. tell me if this solves ur prob.

I'm on a "windows 2000 NT" system... actually my uncle's... can't figure out things, ur msconfig is not working

i'm getting this error:

msconfig works in xp so no wonder its not working.k then i cant help u. sorry let others solve this problem. if u hv a solution for my prob plz reply my thread (just below ur thread!)

do this->
Log-In in Yahoo Messenger...then goto

Messenger->Preference->in General Tab->Uncheck "Auomatically Start Y....

.


in Google Talk, its similar.

Keep your "shift" key pressed for a couple of seconds after you insert your CD. This wont allow autorun. 8)

He was asking for autostart and not autorun.

install winpatrol from www.winpatrol.com and disable startups...hope it runs on win2000...

Alt 1. You can copy msconfig from WinXP or grab it from http://www.perfectdrivers.com/howto/msconfig.html - it will work in 2000 also.

Alt 2. Get Startup Control Panel from http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml and use it as an alternative. There are also many others, but I recommend this...

Alt 3. Manually set the software using method suggested above by s18000rpm
