Slow writing makes sense. But I don't really believe the figures given for burning lesser than what can be done.

I never do more then 4400 MBs. (And never less then 4380 MBs)
And never got any problems.
Thats the perfect figure I think.

When I use Nero, it gives me 4500MB to burn while ulead gives 4700MB. Next thing discs burnt on ulead spoiled quickly. 4400-4450 is a nice content usage

me too max out at abt 4.1gb. but i've noticed one thing. inspite of setting multisession off in nero i can see the difference in the data burnt area on the underside (jus like what happens when we do not close a multisession cd) the burnt part is denser... anyone facing this problem? i also tried roxio suite but it still happens. it also happens when i burn image files (iso) on a dvd or cd.

Its because of the whole computer 1024 thing ..

Theoretically, we use 1KB = 1000 Bytes

But on the comp, we use 1KB= 1024 Bytes ..

Thats y the diff. in space .. it is generally around 4.48GB
