1->Rest for some 10-15 min after every half an hour.
2->Eat lots of fruits rich in vitamin A.
3->Drink lots of water when working on pc.(I am not sure about whether this helps, just heard it from a computer software engineer.)
4->Set the monitor Brightness & Contrast to 40.(I have set this value on my samsung 17 inch monitor & now my eyes feel less stressed.)
5->Also set refresh rate as high as possible for smoother display.

Don't look continuously at the monitor. Every 15 mins. look some green plant (grandfather says). Keep long distance between the monitor and ur eyes.

Stop working on computers for timepass & things which are not required.

Start using it like a tool or consumer device.

Remember, real life is better, so get out, do things....& decrease the time u spend on computers

Reduce the screen brightness and contrast as Cool G5 said. I too have done that. After every 15 minutes look at darker things or close your eyes for 5-10 seconds to give some relief.

Use the eyedrops: Cineraria Maritima Schawabe . It is expensive; 135 for a small "shishi". But after using it for good 15-20 days (once a day while going to bed) you will definately feel the difference.

PS: It hurts like hell when you use the drops, your eyes will painfully pain. But a little pain can be bourne if you have to get your "jyoti" back

Thumbs up Re: how to protect my eyes ?

******IMPORTANT POINT WHILE CALIBERATING CRT/LCD MONITER******

always reduce brightness to minimun like 20-30value and increase contrast...
most people increase brightness to remove darkness but contrast should be increased keeping brightness 20-30

use antiglare screen it looks bad hanging on moniter but it is better as compared to the +4 power spects hanging on your nose....
agreed or not??

also wet your eyes and don't soak up the water on your face with towel or anything.... just let it evaporate by itself .. this makes sure it uses up the heat generated in your eye area....try this and you will REALLY feel better....

have'nt seen any strong brand yet just check for the uniform blackness of the screen.... besides it would be good if you get the sticky pins to put on the moniter....they make the screen fit in a straight fashion and comfortably

branded ones are always preferred...
