many times i get the message of error 4 svchost.exe & low memory ...

after that cant watch movies or listen 2 songs ...

have 2 re-start again ...

is there any other shortcut solution 2 start or get rid of this error ???

coz i also use w2k ...

many reasons.....may be a virus or trojan or some corrupt system/app file....what error do u get?
also, there is a possibility that some viruses r named as svchost.exe!!!
and original svchost.exe is Windows System file which manages a lot of process....

do u get a message "shut down in 60 seconds" or something like it?
it may be a blaster virus...get removal tool here...

no shutdown error ...

just ... error log created ... & i get a prompt of svchost.exe has created error, press ok.

After i press ok, many of my application do not work.

If i click on media player it says low memory & even my norton couldn`t get updated & even cannot dissconnet my modem, bt have to shut it manually or re-start it .


whot is the prob & any faster way 2 re-start or boot 4 w2k ???

i was having the same problem,nd the only solution that came for rescue was SP2 for XP,will be SP4 for 2k....i had tried fixes,tools nd what not,but it always reappeared.....after SP2,everything is fine nd smooth!!!!

no, svchost.exe is a legit windows service . So dont worry.

hmm download hijack this and paste log..

do u have latest version of HijackThis, that is 1.99?
if u have this, then when u open HijackThis, it will give u an options screen, here there will be many buttons like "Scan computer and Save log file", "Scan computer only" etc..
Here u click, "Scan Computer and Save Log File", after this it scans ur comp and opens a Dialog box for saving te Log file, it automatically gives it a name as hijackthis.log, u click OK.

then open this "hijackthis.log" file in NotePAd and copy the entire content and post it here.....it will be approximately 1 page...
