Default max payne on sp2


hi

ever since i installed max payne 1 on sp2 it doesnt work. wen i open it...da splash screen comes...den it closes n evrything returns 2 normal..no error messages n all

and my system requirements r way more dan needed no prob dere.

so wat do i do ?

even older games like carmageddon 2, south park, etc dont work. please help

Well just try updating with its latest patch

Plus try this Just Simply add in the target line of your shortcut of max payne -skipstartup For exapmle : Target: "C:\Games\Max Payne\MaxPayne.exe" -skipstartup

not sure on this one though but Try deleting the "Movies" folder of Max Payne (keep it in Recycle bin i ya want) and then try

Plus i heard that it had sound comptibility probs with SP2....doubt it wont take anything set below 4.1 or 5.1 sound setup

well for this there could be compatiblity issues with winXP....the least u could try would be The win98 compatiblity changing.....Right click on .exe file>Properties>Compatibility>win98 and OK.

Or try latest updates for Xp and possibly patches for the games from thier official websites

here ishan try this for Fixing carmageddon 2 on XP
First download the V2.0 patch from here http://www.downseek.com/download/9695.asp or
http://www.actiontrip.com/link.phtml...h=carmageddon2
Then download the WinXP fix from here
http://www.sci.co.uk/games/downloads.../carma2_hw.zip

Just patch ur game with this

Also tell me the exact name of the south park game
i'll just look up for its compatibility patch
