pc doesn't detect my creative ZEN

i hv just got a creative ZEN Nano MP3 player about a month ago
when i connected it to my pc it says "the USB device has malfunctioned"
my pc is an intel PIV 2.0 on an asus 845gl mobo & onboard graphics
wht can be the problem. none of the ports are working

whereas on my papa's PC which is an intel 3.06 on intel 945g mobo it works fine

i can only gather tht my mp3 player hasn't gone bad

do i hv to upgrade my drivers or anything like that please help me

i even formatted my pc (got XP with SP2 & formatted the C: drive only) & reinstalled windows but it didn't help????

Try attaching any other usb device to ur pc and see if tat works fine

Try borrowing a pen drive or sth from a friend.....it's only to confirm if your usb controller's fine.
Also check for driver issues in device manager's USB controller area.

Make sure the wires of the Usb port are insterted correctly on the motherboard

must be a fault in the usb port. There may be software problem too, for checking that insatll another OS and test for it

guys problem solved

just changed te USB port & it is working fine
