Default is it safe to delete this temp file?


well there is this "temp" folder in the local settings in the C drive. its size is 914 MB. i want to delete it. is it safe? this is the same folder i arrive at if i type %temp%. can i delete all files in this temp folder?

Its 100% safe to delete this folder. U can take a look at it also:

You can delete them without anything to worry about.

thanks...freed almost 1 GB
its a boon, with only 20 GB harddisk.

Clear prefetch memory location as well to free up space used by some old files assosciated with programs that have been uninstalled.Type "Prefetch"in run dialog box to see all prefetch files.You can also delete old system restore points to get somemore disk space

^ wats the use ? they will agn form imftly. and in any case XP cleans the prefetcher at 128 entries !!!

But what about those files which are of those programs that you have removed. These are not deleted the moment you uninstall that software. Though freed up space won't be too much that way but the disk would be getting a little more cleaner.
