1. Don't try to flash the BIOS until there is a new feature available in BIOS update! It can be dangerous to ur system (specially mobo) if anything goes wrong.

2. Most of the mobo comes with a bundled CD, in which u get a BIOS flashing software, which can automatically download the required update and can flash the BIOS.

if the BIOS manufacturer releases Windows Based BIOS Flashing, then use that, as its the most safest way of flashing.

example->Windows Based BIOS Flashing - Intel DG965WH BIOS

Important Notes:

Update the BIOS on your computer only if the newer BIOS version specifically solves a problem you have. We do not recommend BIOS updates for computers that do not need it. You can view all new BIOS fixes in the Release Notes.

• If a BIOS update process is interrupted, your computer may not function properly. We recommend the process be done in an environment with a steady power supply (preferably with UPS).

1. Usually BIOS updates include a few new features and support for new hardware.
2. It takes a few minutes.

Flash the BIOS when major updates are available like FSB increment and all... Fashing BIOS is not too tough just you need a Floppy drive that hard to find but still I have

Make sure that u hv proper UPS connection coz there should be no power fluctuation in the flashing process otherwise u'll end into a dead mobo...
