Smile sata 2 hard-disk users


how much time should it take to copy one file (4.13 gb ) from one partition to another partition .

It took 10 mins to copy in my system .

I know it is not correct so what is the problem ?

defrafmentation can be an issue, or maybe another HDD intensive task was running then.

Ah but be happy it isn't this high.

This happens with always or was that a one time experience? Vista drags the time taken to copy for some odd reasons for me, here. But I guess if its repetitive it can be a DMA issue too? Not that they occur for HDDs these days, still ..

I used copy and paste from one partition to another parttion .

my hard-disk is defragmented .

how can I check if it is running on dma or not .( I knew it but i forgot now, I don't remember it now )

I am using xp sp2 .

how much time it should it take ?

4.13 GB in 10 mins...dats cool man

It takes 13mins to copy 1.2 GB on mine...

P-III 1 Ghz 128MB ram ....Dont laugh, i own sumthng uncommon and ancient as well !
