Default Is it becoz of cheap DVD?

A month ago I burn 2 DVDs.I have checked that DVDs after burn.they ware running fine.
When I opened today & try to copy them in HDD,first some files copied but after that they r unable to copy.
These DVDs r very rarely used and has no scratches.
why they r not copied. Is it becoz of cheap(Rs.12) DVDs.

This type of prob. happen only with DVDs never with CDs.
means I used cheap(rs.5/6) CDs before, burn them but never face this prob.

I buy Lasertras DVD from Kolkata they cost Rs. 9 each

I Never burn more than 4.1 GB in one DVD, and I see DVDs burnt 6/8 months ago (that time DVD used to cost more but compair with big brands they were still cheap) still working fine and healthy

Keep your data limit within 4 - 4.5
Don't exceed that.

hi friends When i check a 4.7 GB DVD(blank) then nero 6/7 says that it has only 4.38 GB free. I tried different brands but got the same result. Why is this so?

80% due to cheap DVDs. Sometimes this happens with me on CDs too. Also it may be because your DVD reader is dirty. Buy a Drive cleaner and then try copying again.

Well I hav burn both DVDs within 4.5GB
First one is abt 4.3 GB.If this dvd does not read then it might be that prob.

But 2nd dvd is just 2.1 GB burn.even not in multisesson.
Both dvds r scratchless.
so what's the real prob?

how much time did it take to write the DVD? If there is some DMA problem then the dvds written will be useless. I had experienced it many times.

Just burn some more DVDs.nero say burning process completed successfully.
then i press next DVD comes out of drive, then i close the again to check the DVD running or not and... this dvd cant able to open??????????
I open the drive and closed it again, but prob. remains same.

On the next day(today) i try to open it and it opened without any prob.
I think restarting pc fix this prob.
So after burning each dvd i hav restart my pc to check the DVD.

why it doesnt open after burning.

^^^How much Ram do you have? Its because windows pages its files in to the hard drive for allowing more RAM to nero. So after writing you can see that windows hangs and HD light stays on for a while. Explorer is struck somewhere, that's why the DVD doesn't open immediately after burning.

512 should work fine. I have no probs.
That isn't a problem, I think. Instead of restarting, wait for 10-15 mins before inserting it again. From task manager shut down and restart explorer, and try.
