Where are my hidden files ????????????

Dear friends iam facing a problem when today morning when i switched on the pc all my hidden files are missing that means even if i go to tools - folder - view - show hidden files and folders and give apply. After re opening again it will highlite the option that do not show hidden files and folders. Why it is like that any virus problem? suggest me something to remove that (if we go to command prompt we can see the hidden files)
