Whr is my QUICKLAUNCH ???

Hi guys..

For sometime ago i hv lost my quicklaunch for every restart..i restart my pc the quicklaunch dissappears..again i bring it bac align the icons..lock it..its safe..one more restart its gone again..

i hv googled and got lots of tricks but still doesnt work..so decided to get the solution frm here..this site i trust a lot thn googlin..

Keep my faith alive..

Open regedit and goto:

Code:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

In right-side pane make sure there is no DWORD value with the name NoSaveSettings, if its there delete it or change its value to 0

I dont find NoSaveSettings in thr..i tried all these steps b4 when i googled..nothin seems 2 work vishal..

Asuming that u r running XP right click on the task bar at the bottom of your screen. Then goto-->Toolbars-->quick launch

thnx 4 ur reply..when doin this it cums bac..once i restart it again goes..i hv clearly mentioned my prob in the post buddy.

Pls post all existing DWORD values under the key I mentioned in previous post. Actually there r lots of DWORD values, which can be set for such restrictions.

I found only 2 keys..

Default - No value set
NoDriveTypeAutoRun - 0x00000091 (145)

Really strange! Seems some virus/spyware problem.
Pls download "HijackThis" from http://www.hijackthis.de/ and scan ur PC with it then post log file contents here.

Quick Launch Toolbar Disappears

The problem:-after every reboot or shutdown the quick launch toolbar disappears.

Solution:-
It may be due to a malware- BlazeFind .Check whether there is any Search Assistant toolbar in the Taskbar or not.
If it is present then:-
Start>Run>Regedit>ok
now navigate to:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrentVersion\Winlogon
In the right-pane, change the value of Userinit to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,"
Type the above value exactly.Do not forget to add the comma at the end.
(without the quotes). Exit Registry Editor and restart Windows.

Hi guys..

For some reason its workin now..dnt knw which is the exact solution..cos i hv tried loads of tricks..also one thing i really did was copied the quicklaunch folder in all the user accnts, like all users, myself, current user..

may be this might of resolved the prob..but not sure

Anyway thnx 4 all the ppl who spent their precious time in resolvin my issue..
