Help me with Blog!!

Hi,

I have registered a domain name at indiatimes. Now I want to upload a web page which will bear my registered domain name address. I thought of using blogger.com page as a web page. How do I link my domain name with it? I mean when I type my domain name then it should automatically redirect to the blogger page.

Do you get Domain Managment with Indiatimes? I havent tried them ever so i am not sure.

Anywayz, if you do....add a new CNAME record for ghs.google.com.

If you dont get DNS Management from Indiatimes....use EveryDNS.net. This will help you how to do it

yes with EveryDNS.net one may do it... !!

I would point another option like simple html url redirection

where at ur index/public/www directory u place a index.html file with this as content !!!

</html>

it will redirect the visitor to the address u specify

But if you have bought hosting along with the Domain to place that Redirection page....i think then it will be better to host your own blog than to use Blogger. Gives more freedom for customizations

I have made the settings as per the instructions. But am not sure about one thing. In the name servers list of Indiatimes I have added ghs.google.com and in the custom domain name i have given the domain name on which i wish to redirect the blog.

First of all have I done the right settings?

Secondly: Nothing seems to be working. But it says it may take upto 48hrs for name server to be updated.

For using CNAME record you need DNS Managment from Indiatimes.

ghs.google.com << is not a Nameserver.

If there is no DNS Management from Indiatimes....you will have to use thirdparty DNS Managment for e.g EveryDNS.net

Something is seriously wrong with DNS setting. I just checked here and all namerservers timeout

I have changed the settings on Indiatimes.. The nameserver on Indiatimes is set to default.. Now what to do?

better still buy some hosting or get some free hosting from ur frnd n then use your hosting NameServer to point to your blog . it'll be much more customizable n better than blogger
