Default Is these possible?OMG

I have sony DVD writer DUAL LAYER.My problem is My drive reads all type of disc. And when i try to burn a file when i use sony CD or DVD mean it writes and read the files after writing and works fine. But when i use another branded CD or DVD it writes the data but never READ's in my PC and my friends PC also it not reads...what could be the problem? If it's hardware failure mean writing and reading of sony cd and dvd also must not work.what could be the exact problem?

also check the writer.... if you are burning with nero check whether you have check marked write simulation instead of burning.

i had an experience where the writer just emulated the burning process even as the simulation option was unchecked. hence all CDs were empty, faulty writer of course.
