Default Avast cries!!


I have been having loads of trouble downloading the packages 4 avast!
the file i am downlading is vps-50700.vpu...
i get stuck after d/l about 1.081.384 bytes out of 1,893,458 bytes
Pls help~!!!!

try some different server maybe dat can help

What download manager are you using? Looks like there's something wrong with your connection. Try downloading from these servers:

actually i dint get ur solution...i guess u too din get my problem:the automatic update which carries on in the background.....it gets stuck at a particular place......

ok now to the problem
well i too have Avast but no problems here
well i tried searching but there is no direct dloading for thier definations
all i can say is next time while updating leave the computer IDLE i,e let the AV update dont acsess
the net while it updates
see if this trick works

ur firewall (if you have one) mite b creating the problem ...

giv full access to the "avast update" in ur firewall options ....

Actually there is a place you can download the updates try this page:

The latest iAVS update was published on: 18.2.2005, version: 0507-4

No reinstallation of the program is needed for virus database updates!

Gotcha! Goof acknowledged. But then I've never used Avast so I guess I misunderstood. One thought though, dont all these update programs have a way of configuring how it accesses the Internet for updates. I know McAfee, NAV and Trend Micro does. Could that be a problem?
