Should i apply XP SP1 before APPLYING SP2 ?

Should Windows XP SP1 be applied prior to applying SP2 ?? Is it necessary ?

no not necessary. SP2 contains all the patches in SP1 and more.

yes u can straight install sp2

Sp2 contains all patches for security etc
dont install sp1
sp2 will do work for sp1 also!!!!!

Once you install SP2, or get the SP2 setup/disc handy, make sure you create a slipstream install disc of Windows XP to avoid installing SP2 after reinstalling Windows XP the next time around. Slipstreaming will make sure the SP gets integrated into the install process.
