what should i do......?

plz tell me what should i do after learning HTML . what is the next step for proceeding towards developing web sites designing i have learned HTML now what should i learn

Learn to use Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop.
html is not sufficient u must also know CSS, PHP, Javascript etc.
improve ur webgraphic skills.

What if I am using linux?

^ there may be s/w in linux that will serve ur purpose. there are many html editors in linux that are pretty good..i dont know exactly the names...i had linux 3 years back.
and there's always the free version of photoshop in linux - gimp.

Yaar don't call GIMP free version of Photoshop. Better say its a Open Source alternative to Photoshop.
