6800 or 6600gt

hello people,

i am getting a deal for a used 6600gt or 6800 128mb for almost same price i wanted to know which one is better.

the 6800 for sale has specs-

# pixel processors -12

# vertex processors - 5

Memory Type/Amount - gddr/128mb

GPU Speed - 325mhz

RAM Speed - 700 mHz

pls help.

6800 what ??? I assume the vanilla version... I'd suggest you to go for 6600GT.

but this 6800 has 12 pipes while 6600gt has 8 pipes

You can unlock the pipelines in 6600 GT later using RIVA tuner

but wont it be better to unlock 6800

then it would have 16 pipes. and would perform way better then 6600gt.

6600 GT's RAM and GPU are clocked higher than 6800.. Dude, 6600GT beats 6800 in many tests.. However... I would suggest neither.. Go for 7600 GT if you can afford it at the moment.. Or wait for some more time.. The prices are expected to dip...

The vendor's probably giving 6800 at a lower price just to clear his existing stocks... No one buys a 6800 these days.... or even 6600 ...

If you HAVE to choose between these two, go for the 6600 GT.

dudde forget 6 Series GFX cards , go for an 8600GT , it's available for 9k n u can bargain , also if u can't afford that go for an 8500GT , it's available for 6k , coz these Cards are DX10 compatible n this is what's the future .
