8i915me supports DDR2?

i have a comp with 8i915me mobo. i have 1 gb ram (DDR) and want to upgrade it to 4 gb DDR2. My friend says that 8i915me does not support DDR2 . Is it true? if it supports ddr2 can i add 3 sticks of 1gb ddr2 ram and use it with my 1 gb ddr ram? he also says that the maximum memory capacity of 8i915me is 2 Gb? is that true too? is there no way 4 me to add ram more than 2gb without upgrading my mobo?
