Have I been hacked?
Guys, I just logged into my gmail ID and this is what I find in my inbox.
--------------------------------
Subject: Very important note
Email content:
You have been streaked. I would change your password if I were you. Have
a nice day.
--
nitricstreak@mailc.net
--------------------------------
I looked into my sent mails and there was a mail sent to myself with this message! Have I been hacked? If so, HOW? I thought Gmail was SAFE! Someone please tell me what to do now! Im freakin out!
And what does "streaked" mean!
HELP! Did anyone else also get this?

Re: Have I been hacked?
It's certainly not a spam. Better change password, create new account and move all the important mails to new account (for safety)

Re: Have I been hacked?
Spam can't be sent to "sent items" list. Hacking is suspected. Change the password to avoid overtaking your account. One important suggestion is not to disclose your mail ID and password to any other website asking to import address from your mail account.

Re: Have I been hacked?
Well, as you all know, spam cannot appear in my sent folder. Also, there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE FOR ANYONE TO KNOW MY PASSWORD since its a strange long combination of characters and numbers.
So, the person definitely did use some other method. Besides, I only use Orkut occasionally! I don't understand who this is and why they would do it. Plus, I do not want to change my email ID as it established and many people know it among my friends and family! Is there a way google could help me?

Re: Have I been hacked?
It is definitely not possible to use a keylogger. I only check my email in my "personal" laptop which no one else uses. No one can install anything on my laptop! I am seriously confused on how this would have happened?

Simple. That's what spywares are meant for.

Re: Have I been hacked?
If you are using internet on a wireless connection, then there are chances that your password might have been sniffed(provided there are enough intelligent peeps around your area) If not for keyloggers or shoulder surfing, this is the next cause.

Re: Have I been hacked?
Hope you haven't used your passwords in forums, etc.. as, it is easy for a pro to decrypt passwords from the database and misuse it. Also, maybe you clicked some trojan link which tracks your password typed.
Better off, change your password the soonest.
