Unhappy strange problem


hi friends..... i am using windows xp professional sp2....whenever i switch my computer on...after the windows boot screen , before the pasword screen the computer automatically restarts ..... i have scanned my computer using avast and spybot and no viruses are found.....whats the problem?

^^ I had the same problem. Later found out that the windows installation was corrupt. Try reinstalling.

ya maybe the installation has gone corrupt or check the smps...

Use Windows XP CD to repair the OS.

Yes. Some Windows system files are corrupt. To scan and replace corrupt files,

Start> Run> type "SFC /SCANNOW" and press enter.
Windows will scan for corrupted/missing files and request for Windows XP CD. Insert the CD and proceed.

^^ Am I missing something... You have written that the PC reboots before login screen and yet you have scanned it for viruses?
