One of my friends is quite good in Solaris, the Unix OS of Sun Microsystems, but has no experience. He needs a job in that field and is looking for really good consultancies to post him/help him out.
Can any1 help him out?
Point to a good consultancy or help in whatever way possible.

He's in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, now & it would b nice if someone @ the same place help him or point to someplace there itself.

Need urgent help, guyz. I hope someone'll reply with really useful matter.

Thanks... from my side.

Default Re: Help a friend... Solaris any1...

My suggestion is to get certified in SCSA first. Without a formal training and certification, it's not east to get a job in this field. System administration is not only a very serious job with responsibilities - you're also expected to have good communication skills and some prior experience.

A better path, however, would be pursue RHCE and work in related field for an year or two, and only then migrate to Solaris. This is because there are not as many jobs in Solaris as in Linux, and companies generally prefer those with 2-4 years of solid experience in system administration (Linux/UNIX).
