i want to know whether 1 can use wifi for desktop ?

and how much it cost ?

i want to know locations where the wi-fi hotspot in our India .

you can use it in desktops. you need a wifi card. hotspots are generally found in coffee shops and other public places...

My organization just purchased an Apple Airport station costing 14000 plus 4000 octroi. Airport cards cost additional bucks for each laptop.

Hmm.. well Wi-fi hotspots are quite expensive, if u wanna create one.. At chennai, we have hotspots at Airport & Central railway terminus.. Here Dishnet is providing Wifi service.. Im not sure about exact costs..

But its out of reach of individuals.. Unless you have enuf customers who can browse thru wifi enabled Laptops or PDAs, its not really worth it..

AND btw.. cost of browsing should be reasonable.. should be under 50 bucks an hour.. Thou im not sure abt this.. Coz Wifi is only a local network.. They wont charge u hell lot for this..
