get Dr.Divx or VirtualDub
Dr.Divx is a very simple to use software but its shareware
VirtualDub is free but .. kinda complicated .. but once you master it .. u'll find it very versatile
you can see VirtualDub Tutorials here or here or on simple google search

wrong buddy...
virtualdub doesnt support IFO files of DVDs ok?
so u can use FlaskMpeg (freeware) for DVD to DivX conversion.
u can crop, resize etc. it is only not supporting DAT.it suports MPG (done by VCDcutter also).

so for DVD FlaskMpeg is best.it is resume supported also ok?
but DVD to DivX takes 8 to 10 hrs buddy. a long time ok?
so enjoy it!

u can visit my gropu & join it plz abt these all stuff

Yes. Topic should be meaningful and specifc!

Try WinAVI, TMPGEnc or DVD Shrink.
Good tools.

>DVD Shrink is free. It will reduce the size by 60%. But takes only 30 minutes to convert.

>WinAVI reduces the size very much. But depends on the settings. Time: 90 mins for a DVD in 352*288.

>TMPGENC: To make DVD from MPEG and VOB files. Good speed.

ya DVDShrink works fro DVDs but gives bad quality man...
WinAvi is not so good in making AVIs of DivX & Xvid .

so FlaskMpeg which is also freeware is the best to make AVI from mpg,ifo etc... it gives great quality like the original Film print man....

i had tried it to make AVI from CD of "Darkness Falls" & i got 1 CD film AVI in good quality.....
so try http://www.flaskmpeg.net
