For proffesional audio editing the best one is Sony Sound Forge.
For basic audio editing, there is a freeware called Audacity. There is a Nero Wave editor bundled with the nero package which has got some advanced editing features.
For Live DJ perfomance, Virtual DJ is the best I have seen.
For Audio Sequencing try Fruity Loops Studio

Semi Prof: Cubase, Ableton, Sonar, Samplitude
Home Based: Sound Forge, Reaper, Audacity, Audition, Acid
Synth & Sequencing: FL Studio, Reason, Logic
DJ : Sorry, No Idea
