HijackThis is a software which examines Registry and key areas of ur Drive and lists all the processes,Reg Keys and other areas which are the possible spots for Spywares/Adwares etc.After a scan,it generates a LOG file ,post it here....

Do the following:-
First get CWShredder and run it...
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Interne...Shredder.shtml

next get urself Webroot SpySweeper and do a full scan now.
http://www.webroot.com/downloads/?WR...1fcae758e7f415

Also u can view the 'should be' values homepage,search for IE and 'current' values for homepage,search for IE using this tool called Windows Inspector.

as everybody has already posted .. you ARE infected by a spyware ...

but about the registry editing ..
in start->run->type gpedit.msc
in here .. go to
User Configuration -> System -> "Prevent Acess to Registry Editing Tools"
Disable the setting and try to access the regedit again

ohh gr8 ..
hail microsoft ..

now that you do not have gpedit.msc ...
u have to edit the registry from command line fashion
go to start->run and type
Code:
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
i'm not very sure if it will work or not .. but TweakUI site says it works

Hi Amit,

Here is the solution

Open Registry by Regedit and browse the following key :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

In the right pane you will find Start Page key.

Double click on it and change the value data to about:blank

And hurray you have done it.

Exit Registry Editor and you will find you home page to about:blank next time
