Question Page file Q

I have read somewhere that in the case of having two harddrives, PageFile should be on the one where windows is not present.

My scenario is that I have got one SATA 7200 80gb and one IDE 7200 40gb. The OS(WinXP-pro) lies on the SATA. I use the IDE drive only for media files. I have 1gb of RAM and have allocated 2gb of drive space for Pagefile.

Is my Pagefile going to perform better if I put it on the IDE drive or should I let it remain on the SATA only as SATA drives are faster than IDE

Pagefile should be on a drive which is faster.
The response time of SATA is better than IDE so you should put your pagefile on the SATA drive.

True.....

But u said u have 1 gb of ram..so for better performance allocate
1GB x 1.5 = 1.5Gb for pagefiles

The recommended minimum size is equivalent to 1.5 times the RAM on your computer, and 3 times that figure for the maximum size. For best performance, do not set the initial size to less than the minimum recommended size under 'Total paging file size for all drives'

Just a suggestion...works for me
