I study in class X. We r taught ms access and HTML. There were two questions asked.

I was not able to differentiate bet. the two.
they are :-

1. What is data validation
2. WHat is record level validation

Can any one tell the answer of these two ?

hi

ms access and html are 2 different things

ms access is a complete database management system

while html or hypetxt markup language is just used to create web
pages ...it only tells how the page should look and nothing else

ms access is used to store data in a database so that related records are accessed with ease

while html tells how to presnt data on a web page

abt ur questions

what is data validation

suppose on a webpage u r asked to enter name and email add.. although u mght enter anyting but if the data needs to be saved in a datbase it should follow some rules like u wontbe able to save text data in the space meant for numbers.. so u validate the entered data.. if u r using html as an interface to collect data then u need to use a scripting language like asp, javascript, etc to see if the data entered is valid.. ie only numbers are neterd in the field meant for phone, etc

abt record validation
its done in the dbms., whther if the relevant data is stored properly.. or whther the data exists or the data to be entered is in conformity with the rules of teh database

hope this helps to some extent
