.wmv file playing woes

hi guys,
i downloaded this file which is in .wmv..i tried playing in win media player,power dvd,divx player.it refuses to play in any of the above.This i guess should play in win medis player.plz advice.

.wmv Sucks Big Time......The Main Drawback is Its Compression Which is Quite Lossy and The Audio Sucks as Well......Plus Its jerks and Cannot Be dragged To a Certain Point Without Hanging in The Middle.....The File That u have downloaded must have a Source corruption......Whats The Error That U Get in Media Player......Try Bs Player Or Vlc Player.....Thats The Only 2 media Players That are the Best For Now And Play Most Of The Formats

when i played it in divx player.it said format not supported..how can it be.wen i played in win media player,it took long time..some license acquiring thing was goin on but nothing happened afterwards...wat do u suggest..

The Divx Player Wont Play This Clip as it supports The .avi files......What Kinda Clip Is It????......The Last Time I Required a Authenticating Is When was tryin to Play a Porno Clip Via Its Website that required authentication from microsoft first And That Damm Clip Didnt Play too

May Be The Clip is Encrypyted From The Website And Needs Microsofts permission for access.....Usually If It dosent Play Then Its Denied

So try Not To waste Ur Time On it

ok..but i tried playing in a player called ace divx player which supports .wmv..thats wat was mentioned in their site..its a free player..but when i tried playing in win media player it asked for authentication..ya its a short music video which i downloaded frm net..dnt know y its not playing..is there any way to beat it.

Nope Then I Guess The Video Does Require Authentciation And If Refused By Microsoft.....Then Adios Amigo

Btw I Thought U Were using The Divx Pro Player....It Mostly Plays The .avi Files.....Dun Know About The Ace Player....Also .wmv Files are Best Played On Media Player Itself 8)

well i dont know man..i think its some kinda porn stuff..cnt stay.loaded it from kaazaa.i hav no idea wats inside..ya i use divx player 2.6ver..i just used this ace player cuz it supports .wmv(thats wat tey claim)..but its not cmin..damn these diff code/codecs stuff.y cant tey make a plaer which plays all ********* formats

Hey! krisjr ..windows media player it very well ... i think wimamp 5.08 too ... & else if nothing works download the VLC media player(ultimate) ..it will surely play ur files ... i have media player 9 with Dix Codec 5.11 & my media player playes it all well ...

It's name suggests enough : wmv>> windows media video ..got it ..try the VLC hope it will work ..gud luck

hi mate,
well i loaded VLC man..it starts that file but there is no picture man.its showing a green screen instead of the picture...video codec detail is .WMV1 something and audio codec detail is .WMA2 something.I hav also loaded k-lite codec pack..now wat to do.any ideas..

man download some other wmv files

or search the wmv file in the my videos folder, i guess there u have

and first check whether u can play other wmv files or not

and plz make sure that it aint tht wmv which requires authentication

the only thing i can say is uninstall everything, install windows media player 9/10 and hope for da best

if it doesnt play then mebbe its a corrupted video file

by the way just post the file name mebbe someone from da forum would have that file

Well man than it must be some other file probably ..actually it might be tht the way u r checking the format is incorrect ..well!! just check this one .. a great fabulous player is there ... mplayer & few more with me.. give me ur mail address if U dunt find them on net .... i'll send them to ya ...

& if nothing works .. uninstall the players & reinstall everything ok!! it will be done!!

ok file ko goli maar di meine...forget it..tx anyways...it brings back to my earlier qs..why they **** tey cant make some player which plays goddamn everything..BTW is this mplayer better than VLC player..ok i loaded klite codec pack.is it ok..i loaded some mre files and the media player classic bundled with the pack played that file..plz let me know if this codec pack is ok or not.

install the codec pack availabe in digit dvd or some how get hold of it .It is called klcodec pack it also comes with bs player (ultimate plays any damn thing)

Well The K-Lite Codec Pack Is Quite Fine.....If Possible Try to Load Gordian Knot Pack too..... 8)

Btw All The Media Players Made Posses Thier Own Capabilities Of Playin Mate But This Also Depends On The Codecs Relased and The Type of File being Played (I.e. It is In PLayable condition or Not).....So Its Not Cursing The Players Mate

DivX Repair (4 DIVX or AVI only, 654kb)

Search 4 better ones online..
