Default Insert files in an image file

Hi guys.
I wanted to know that how to add more files in an already saved image file.
For instance, I have an image file of Windows 98 SE.
But the case is, since it has a very small install size (about 200 MB), lot of space would be wasted on the CD.
I wanted to know how can I add more files in an already saved/compiled image file.

Use MagicISO to edit all kinds of image files. But remember, if it is an .nrg file or any other proprietary format, the image may not get saved properly, or worse, get corrupted. So open a imgae to edit and always save it in ISO format. It's a standard format.

Actually there are two files. One is a .nri file. And the other is a.iso file.
I used WinRar to view the file first.
But when I opened the file, all that there was in the image was a readme file with following text:

This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification.

Think. A 2.49 GB image file containing only a readme file.
Then, I mounted the file on a virtual drive & it ran fine.

The image file is actually Windows Vista image file.
I want to edit the image so as not waste any space on disk.

I could have just copied the files from the image after mounting it on a virtual drive and later after adding more files burnt it onto a DVD. But then it would have not booted.
I don't know how to extracty boot files from Win Vista image/DVD.

That's why this thread.

If the original file has a boot image, then adding files to it and saving it in another format will preserve the boot image, until and unless you tamper with the files already present on the file.

I was unable to understand this part. Which file did you mount? The iso or the nri?

Most probably , I have understood your overall problem. What I am telling you to do is, open the image file using MagicISO, add the files which you want to it, and then save it in ISO format instead of nrg or any other format.

MagicISO preserves all boot information and files required to boot. If it was just equivalent to copying files from an image, then it wouldn't be a separate image editing tool.

You think that if you try to add more air to an already filled and tied balloon, it will burst, and you will lose the air inside the ballon too. MagicISO helps you in such a situation. It cleverly adds more air (new data) inside the balloon, without bursting it, or even disturbing the air previously present in it .
